What is the projector
What is the projector and how does it work?
What is a projector? You all may have seen the use of projector in your class, or in one government function, nowadays people use Projector even in weddings, to refresh old memories. But do you know what is the video projector? How does this projector work? What are its different types? If you want to know the simple answer to all these questions then definitely read this article till the end. Because today we are going to share all the information about Projector with you.
Now gone are the days when classrooms used to be fitted with blackboards, in which they were filled with quotations, maths equations and science diagrams. Teachers needed to use chalks and write again and again to explain a concept. Sometimes everything in these blackboards cannot be explained properly. In such a situation, teachers can easily explain all the concepts to students much better by using digital projectors. With this, teachers can now teach students seamlessly without using any chalks which used to have a lot of time wastage. With more time, students can ask all their doubts. So today I thought why should you give information about what the projector is, which will make it easier for you to understand it. So start running without delay.
What is Projector?
Tell Projector in easy language, then it is a device that uses a series of chips, lenses, color wheels and various other gadgets and gizmos which takes a beam of light and replaces it. They also have a great high definition detail in favorite movies and TV shows.
A projector is an optical device that projects an image or moving images above a surface, which is primarily a projection screen. In today’s time, the most common type of projector is a video projector. We can call video projectors digital replacements of first type of projectors such as slide projectors and overhead projectors.
The invention of the projectors was done by Charles Francis Jenkins in 1894. There are no similarities between nowadays in projectors and in older projectors. Whereas in earlier original models, light was blasted by celluloid film and in which images and sounds were stringed together, using some techniques that are not used anymore.
Both the design and implementation of modern projectors have very complexity, in which many different core technologies are used, which provides a fairly large range to a prospective buyer.
Types of Projectors
There are several types of projectors, but three of them are the main ones.
What is DLP Projection
DLP technology is based on an optical semiconductor called a digital micro mirror device, which was done by Texas Instruments in 1987. A DMD Chip is made up of many millions of tiny mirrors, which rotate at 10 degrees angle (in better models they also have 12 degrees).
In a DMD chips, the shade is often extra and is controlled using a shade controls. These are such controls in which they rotates completely round which can be from about 150x each second to 250x or even more.
Many affordable products can be made using several message shade controls. It can be either red / green / blue color, but often it is a clear message.
What are the Advantages of DLP Projector
1) It has a filter-free design.
2) These are the sealed projection system.
3) There are no problems with failed air filter.
4) There are higher contrast.
5) Less pixilation occurs
6) Lighter and smaller.
What are the Disadvantages of DLP Projector
Rainbow effect can be seen in it, Color wheels sometimes produce a rainbow effect. Rainbow effect (also called color separation artifacts), these are momentary flashes of banded color that look completely like rainbows. These occur randomly, and they live only for a few moments.
These problems are mostly seen in slower color wheel projectors. These rainbow artifacts problem is never seen in 3-DLP chip projectors because it uses 3 single DLP chips technology.
What is LCD projector
LCD projector is a type of video projector which is used to show displaying video, images and computer data in screen or on another flat surface. This is the modern version of slide projector or overhead projector. To display images, LCD (liquid crystal display) projectors typically send light to a metal-halide lamp by a prism or a series of dichroic filters which separate that light in three polysilicon panels – One for red, another for green and third for blue components for the video signal.
Why the polarized light passes is passed through these panels (which is a combination of polarizer, LCD panel and analyzer), individual pixels can be opened to allow light or to block close light. These open and closed pixels combinations can create colors and shades of a wide range in projected image.
What are Advantages of LCD Projectors
1. Higher contrast ratio is in specific projector models.
2. Sharper image happens in specific projector models.
What are the Disadvantages of LCD Projectors
1. Having low contrast ratio, with the design of equipment, in which they are equiped from high-quality optics.
2. Are high-weight.
3. Dust blobs Impurities are in panels. Therefore, the LCD structure projector should be cleaned every 300 hours after being used.
4. Color decay occurs.
5. The Limited lifetime Screen-door effect is visible in it, it happens when the lines between pixels become visible, due to which separate pixels are visible, and these effects become more distracting.
6. Dust issues are very high in this. Due to this dust accumulation, a reduction in over time of up to 50% can be seen in contrast ratio.
7. Having dead pixels. You’ve probably heard that in LCD Monitors.
What is CRT Projector
The full form of CRT is “Cathode Ray Tube”. This is the largest and most used projector. Many of you people have seen this projector in the school auditorium, or in bars. CRT utilizes three tubes, also known as “guns”. These combine the three colors and converge them into the image.
CRTs do not have fixed number pixels, which makes them a versatile machines and which are capable to create clear images in higher to lower resolution sources. Periodic ‘calibration’ is required to run CRTs by a trained professional, which is an additional expense for the end user. These projectors are usually fixed installations due to their size. CRTs are not very bright like other technologies, but the refined picture quality that provides a properly calibrated CRT is a very pleasant thing to beat. At the same time, its parts are more expensive, especially in terms of replacement of those guns, they have to spend a lot of money.
What is the projector’s Throw Distance?
The throw distance of a projector is called the distance that is within the image of the projector and the screen (ie the distance as far as the image can be “thrown”).
What are Projection Screens?
A projection screen is called a place where the installation consists of a surface and a support structure and is used to display a projected image that the audience finally sees. Projection screens are either permanently installed, such as in a movie theater, or on a semi permanent basis as if placed in a conference room.
There are many varieties of Projection Screen such as digital projectors, movie projectors screen, overhead projectors, slide projectors etc. But in all screens, the basic idea is the same as that: Front projection screens work in diffusely reflecting the light that is projected on it, while back projection screens work, diffusely light to transmit by them.
Which projector is good to buy?
By the way, there are many varieties of Projector to buy. But some of them are also good. There are some things with more functions in which there are not many features. So below I have created a list of some of the best projectors you can buy online if you wish.
- JVC DLA-X5900
- Sony VPL-VW300ES
- Optoma HD39Darbee Special Edition
- BenQ W1070 +
- Optoma UHD65
What do the lens look like in the projector?
The convex lens is used in the projector. This is the outerwards curved from both sides. This magnifying lens is also actually a convex lens. When the light passes through it, then you can find an image in the screen which is very large compared to the object whose image it is. This image is inverted.
So this inverted video or image is left within the projector and which is later projected into a screen. That’s why we finally see the image direct.
What does projector use in education
There are many benefits of Projector, but they are most used in education, that means they are used most in the field of education. Let’s know about how they are used.
As we know, nowadays are of technology, such as laptops, smarthphones and computers, most people know about it. How can the education sector be left behind? Yes, to make studies more interesting, projectors and smart boards are now being used in classrooms. Let us know more about its use.
Note-taking can be done in a more efficient way
Earlier, concentrating in studies for children and writing notes together was not so easy, now the use of the projectors is presented in a better interactive manner. Apart from this, after the class is over, teachers can share the e-copy of those notes with the students. So that they get the right notes in the right time, in which the chances of making a mistake are less. Apart from this, children can focus more on understanding things where they can do this work in a more focussed manner.
The studies can be made more interactive by presentations which keep students more engaged.
We all know that instead of the theory portion of books, we remember the story of the movie more well. The only reason for this is that it is presentation. In the same way, if concepts are explained through interactive videos, then it is more remembered in children. At the same time, their interest too increases. This keeps them in mind for more reading.
Lessons can be taught through Games
Nowadays, there are so many puzzles and Quizes Mehnda on the internet that can be used in children’s studies. Keeping Education Puzzles in front of students, their subjects also remember and due to the projector, they are not bore too. In this, teachers can also discuss or quiz questions of their subjects.
Can be taught from different range mediums
Little children do not understand the whole subject. Therefore, if the same subject is divided into small pieces, then it remembers them more. In this, turn on the slides already prepared through the projector and after reading a small portion of a subject, its related tasks or exercise can be done in an interactive manner. This will increase the spirit of team work along with studies in them.
Classroom Time is used correctly
Often the earlier education system had more wastage of classrom time. Because the teachers had to write notes, after erasing it, they had to write again on some new topics, in which students’ doubts could not be cleared. At the same time, since the arrival of the projectors, there is no need to waste time for these wasteful works, so that the students can study better.
